RUNNING ASSESSMENTS
Whether you walk or run for fun, to lose weight or you're training for a marathon or triathlon, we can advise you how to do so more efficiently to prevent injuries and maximise your performance. Running is also important for many other sports, so it's worth getting yourself checked out even if you play a field sport such as football or rugby.
We'll assess your gait and running techniques in house, sometimes outdoors too. This lets us identify any biomechanical issues that can lead to overuse injuries (such as shin splints, compartment syndrome, anterior knee pain, Achilles pain, ITB syndrome). Be sure to bring your trainers with you so we can assess their suitability for your style and biomechanics.
Once we've assessed you, we can provide a training plan, advice on your running style, along with exercises and/or stretches to correct any muscle imbalances. If necessary, we can also refer you to a podiatrist for bespoke orthotics, our sports massage therapist and/or a local running shop for more appropriate trainers.
Sprint has previously been part of the Virgin London Marathon Sports Injury Clinic for several years, so our team has lots of experience getting you ready for the big event - and of course helping you recover afterwards!
