Physiotherapist

Anj Periyasamy
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC
Anj qualified with an Honours degree from St George’s Medical School in 2005 and has worked in a number of London based NHS, private hospitals, clinics and sports settings. She has extensive experience within hydrotherapy and treating patients with brain injuries, through to complex trauma from road traffic accidents or victims of war. She has worked as a senior physiotherapist on ITU settings, as well as on cardiac wards assisting patients who have had heart and lung transplants, and has a deep empathetic understanding of the psychological and physical trauma that extensive injury and inpatient hospital stays can cause. After having undergone her own journey in oncology, she is passionate about bringing more services to the community through her knowledge as both a patient as well as a physio, and how to regain control over your health, wellbeing and fitness.
With a keen interest in hand therapy, scar management and spinal rehab, she has worked voluntarily with the London Wheelchair rugby team in the lead up to the 2012 Paralympics, both in training and at their national games. She has from this, gained a deeper understanding that if you truly want to, you can return to high levels of sports despite major traumatic injuries to the body.
Anj has qualifications in Clinical Pilates and acupuncture and uses the knowledge she has developed over the years, alongside higher level movement analysis, to provide refined movement control rehabilitation and achieve the best level of care and intervention possible. Her treatment approach aims to help you prevent reinjury, manage long term chronic conditions and return you to higher levels of function, sport and fitness.
Being an Apos therapist, Anj looks to improve movement patterns and decrease pain of the lower limbs and back through supporting the body’s systems with a more innovative conservative therapy option, that only a few clinics are privileged to provide. Anj is one of our inhouse Apos therapists serving the whole of London and is a clear advocate for prevention being better than cure.
